Ochoco Lumber Company acquired the Foley Butte Block property through a series of acquisitions, with the
largest in 1991 - 1992 from Crown Pacific. From 1992 to 1996, 85% of the Douglas-fir and white fir that had been
impacted by tussock moth and spruce budworm was harvested, and one of the largest reforestation efforts on
private lands in Central Oregon was undertaken by Ochoco Lumber Company. Over 1.3 million ponderosa pine
seedlings were planted from 1993 to 2003 on 3,082± acres of north-facing slopes on the north half of the property,
contributing significantly to the stocking and productivity of the Foley Butte Block.
