DESCRIPTION: This coastal 286± acre timber tract is located 16 miles northeast of the southern Oregon coastal resort community of Brookings, along the southwest slopes of Bosley Butte, between the North Fork Chetco Creek and South Fork Pistol River drainages, and could be a good location for a secluded hunting camp. Boardman State Park is five miles west of the property on the coast, between Gold Beach and Brookings. There is 1,559± MBF with 682± MBF of Douglas fir, including old growth, and the balance of 877± MBF being primarily knobcone pine and tan oak, having little commercial value. An estimated 308 MBF of 52± year old Douglas fir is located on 32± acres along the northern portion of the tract, which is easily accessible for harvest and would not require any new road construction. The balance of the tract has moderate to steep south facing slopes and a Douglas fir site index of 75. There are several small creeks that are tributary to North Fork Chetco Creek in the southern portion of the tract.
