DESCRIPTION: This 76± acre timber tract is located in the southern Oregon Coast Range, eleven miles northeast of Sixes, along Calf Ranch Prairie. There is no developed road at this time and a logging road provides access to within one-quarter mile of the eastern boundary and a spur road to within 200± feet of the northeast corner. The bulk of the tract has a Douglas fir site index of 113. The majority of the tract, or 60± acres, has moderate to steep south-facing slopes of a poorly-stocked stand of primarily Douglas fir, with an estimated 170 MBF (see Supplemental Information Package for details). A tributary of Carlton Creek crosses the southwest corner. The balance of the tract is a grass meadow along Calf Ranch Prairie, which could be used for a camping area with Carlton Creek and Sixes River Roads providing good access to the coastal community of Port Orford and Highway 101.
