DESCRIPTION: This 640± acre tract, a full section, is located 10 miles southwest of the South Fork Coquille River frontage town of Coquille, in a remote area of the Coos/Douglas County line, by the northeast boundary of the Siskiyou National Forest, and contains an estimated 5,334 MBF. The property is along the West Fork Cow Creek and has 181± acres of primarily 80 to 100± year old Douglas fir, with an estimated 4,300 MBF, or 80% of the volume, not impacted by a northern spotted owl nest that is near the southeast corner. There is an estimated 374 acres of primarily 25 to 39 year old well-stocked Douglas fir pre-merch that will provide significant future harvests in the next 10 to 15 years. The topography is moderate to steep, mostly north, west and east facing slopes along the West Fork Cow Creek drainage. There is good access from BLM and USFS roads from the north to the property. An estimated 84 acres of the property is in the Riparian Management Area. The interior logging road system and three replacement bridges that cross the West Fork Cow Creek and its tributaries will need to be improved in order to harvest the timber. Some ground-based equipment, but mostly cable-yarding systems, will be required in order to harvest. One-third of the tract has a Douglas fir site index of 96 - 115 and the balance a low site index of 79 - 95.

LOCATION: Township 31 South, Range 10 West, Section 36, Tax Lot 500.
