DESCRIPTION: This 123± acre tract is located six miles west of Riddle between the Rice Creek and Willis Creek drainages which are tributaries to the Umpqua River. The tract has an estimated 3,449 MBF with 60± acres impacted by spotted owl core habitat. It is estimated that the balance of the tract of 76± acres has 2,218± MBF of primarily 57± year old Douglas fir that is not impacted and is available for harvest (see Supplemental Information Package for details). The property has excellent access via Bureau of Land Management (BLM) roads to the wood products facilities in nearby Dillard, Riddle and Roseburg, comprising one of the largest concentrations of mill facilities in western Oregon. Blossom Creek Road provides access within 200 feet of the northeast corner and the existing logging roads on the property are in need of upgrading. The BLM is an adjoining owner on the eastern and northern boundaries. The topography is mostly north facing steep slopes and will require a cable-logging system. The Douglas fir site index is 103.
