DESCRIPTION: This 164± acre tract is located along the Siuslaw River Drainage in the Coast Range, 25± miles east of Florence and 40± miles west of Eugene. The Siuslaw riverfront community of Mapleton is seven miles west of the property. The tract has an estimated 6,111 MBF of primarily 64± year-old Douglas fir and some old growth Douglas fir, western hemlock, red alder and maple (see Supplemental Information Catalog for more detail). About 15% of the Douglas fir volume is of export-quality. There is a logging road that provides access to the tract from the north side of Highway 126 to the northwest section of the property, providing excellent access to the Eugene/Springfield log markets. This property has steep side slopes from the ridge top to both north and south, and logging will be primarily cable-yarding, with new road construction required to harvest the timber. The Douglas fir site index is 117. Preston Creek is near the northeast corner. There are several small creeks on the property but none are fish-bearing. There is a spotted owl habitat nearby which could impact the harvest schedule.

LOCATION: Township 18 South, Range 9 West, Section 12, Tax Lot 1700.
