Excellent access from Block D to
Highway 138 |
The lands in Block D are located south of the North Umpqua River
and Highway 138, near Douglas County's Swiftwater Campground, and
are the smallest ownership block available as part of Rock Creek
Tree Farm. There is excellent access from Highway 138. Sixty percent
of the lands contain pre-merchantable stands of primarily older
26-35 year old age class. In addition, 18% of the property, or 289±
acres, is older reproduction in the 16-20 year old age class. There
are no merchantable stands on the property. 869± acres have been
fertilized and commercial thinning has been completed on 86± acres
during the last ten years by Rosboro. The lands are well-blocked
with ownership of two full sections with elevations that range from
900± to 3,000± feet. It is projected that in 20 years the growth
from these pre-merchantable stands will provide 44± million board
feet of merchantable timber. Adjoining owners include Roseburg Forest
Products, Seneca Jones Timber Company and Lone Rock Timber Company.
